Laser Pointer

Any laser pointer will work.

Laser pointer with a power switch (instead of a button that has to be held down) and usb charging:

The link below has three different colors of lasers and uses AAA batteries. You can tape the buttons down to keep the laser on.

Petri Dishes (including some fancy options)

We'll show you how to make your own with gelatin and beef boulion, but (spoiler alert!) homemade plates that are made in a kitchen will all be contaminated to some degree. You can also order pre-poured sterile plates from a variety of sources. We've included a few (non-affiliate) links for convenience:

Pre-poured plates ($14)

amazon.com/Tryptic-General-Microorganisms-Hardy-Diagnostics/dp/B0017U26S6/ref=sr_1_13?crid=16SSHBZ0SPOGN

Pre-poured agar plates with a science book ($22)

amazon.com/EZ-BioResearch-Bacteria-Science-Book/dp/B004MKHNJK

From Midnight Mushroom Co (free shipping on orders over $25) there are plates for $2 each with different colors available:
